And speaking of the local George Floyd protests, former 9News anchor Bob Kendrick is taking criticism for a social media post in which he referred to the mostly African American protesters as “animals.” Kendrick is an anchor at ABC6/Fox28 in Columbus, Ohio (the stations have a shared services agreement).
For those of you relatively new to Denver, Kendrick was the original Shannon Ogden – funny, clever and bright, but you were never completely sure he wasn’t actually one of those fancy AI robots that come really close to appearing human.

The comment was made out of frustration for what was happening to his co-workers. I took no offense to his remarks and understood what point he was trying to make, it was just poor wording. Thank you for the apology and hope to see you back on air soon.
When he used the word ‘animals’, he was referring to whites and black both, NOT just blacks. I was not offended by his comment. He is right, these people acted terrible. These riots are never good and only cause more heartache and trouble for those who have to clean up after them. They should be arrested for the destruction and looting they do. I TRULY HOPE BOB KENDRICK IS NOT FIRED AND WILL BE BACK DOING THE NEWS AGAIN REAL SOON.

He didn’t call just African Americans animals, there was white and Hispanic also. Standing up for your rights isnt burning down buildings and looting, that’s just an excuse. The ones that are getting their businesses destroyed, had nothing to do with the death of George. They do have a right to protest, but not destroying everything in the process. I am a lack woman and I support Bob. What I heard was frustration, not racism. Bob never said those “African Americans” are animals or are acting like animals! Whom ever was causing destruction and chaos, was who he was referring to. There were various races, but there just happen to be more African Americans in that clip.
I would have said they were acting like animals as well; but that wouldn’t mean I am focusing on just the black people. I would’ve been talking about everyone who, like animals were being destructive which wasn’t called for.
I understand the hurt, the anger, the frustration and feeling sick and tired of being sick and tired. But I do not believe that you have to destroy other people’s property or your city to prove your point.
I watch abc channel 6 news because I Have always enjoyed Bob. He has always shown complete respect and genuine affection and connection when working with his former African American co-anchors. I would never call or think Bob Kendrick was racist.

The comment that was made is right on as far I am concerned cause that how they were acting, if you want respect than act like it and if the truth be known not one even knew him for if they did, is that the way he would want to be rememberd.

I remember Bob kendrick saying something to Adam the last wednesday of March that had sexual overtones. There had been other times he has said odd and inappropriate remarks. Now he talked about people being animals. It is time to replace Bob kendrick at channel 6 news.

I was sick when I heard Bob Kendrick was groveling and apologizing for saying something that needed no apologizing. He did not reference Black People. He was talking about the people looting, stealing, setting fires at will to anything they chose. What do you call that behavior…….no matter the color of your skin. I have seen coyotes surround prey and attack. How were the actions of these people different from animal behaviors? I’m am not racist…….never have been. The looting, vandalism, the fire starting ( often to businesses belonging to black and Asian people who are just trying to make a living) had nothing to do with demonstrating for change. And anyone with eyes could see that cop murdered that man in broad daylight while being filmed and he was enjoying it and possibly should have been hanged on the spot. The thin skin of people today is appalling. Everything is not about Me, Me, Me. Don’t make assumptions about every word that is spoken.
