Michael Roberts at Westword confirms that INDenverTimes was only able to hit six percent of its goal of 50,000 subscribers. I knew they wouldn’t get 50,000, but I thought they’d do a lot better than 3,000. Ouch.

Definitely disappointing. I thought they would at least get 10k.

Comment by Gina Seamans April 23, 2009 @ 8:43 pmActually, what this says is that a proposed new business backed by no apparent market research, no marketing and no real business plan will have trouble getting to market and attracting investors and customers.
Anyone else trying to sell a mainstream consumer product the way these guys did would have been laughed out of town; apparently the sympathy halo still exists when it comes to the Rocky.
