- Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems has been sold to Scott Leiendecker, a former Republican elections official who has renamed the company Liberty Vote. The new company has promised “to engage in a ;top-down’ review of Dominion’s equipment ahead of next year’s midterm elections, and that it would ‘rebuild or retire’ machines as needed.”
- Former NFL quarterback and
currentFox Sports NFL analyst Mark Sanchez managed to both get himself hospitalized with stab wounds and be the one charged with felony assault. The 38-year-old Sanchez was allegedly drunk when he attacked a 69-year-old delivery truck driver, who in turn pulled a knife. - People are using AI to “revive” beloved-but-deceased celebrities, and the late comedian Robin Williams‘ daughter is begging people to stop doing it.
- James Bond fans are not amused by Amazon‘s Photoshopping of classic promotional artwork now that it owns the Bond franchise due to its purchase of MGM. Artwork on Prime for “Dr. No,” “GoldenEye” and “Casino Royale” featured new images of Bond with guns Photoshopped out. After an outcry from fans, Amazon reverted back to the original images.
- The Denver Board of Ethics cleared DIA CEO Phil Washington over concerns about nine highly expensive plane tickets he and his staff purchased for a conference in Spain, but they still managed to get their kicks in. The board announced they were “appalled” by the purchase and were concerned by Washington’s “seemingly cavalier attitude in responding to (the) complaint,” but that no ethical violation had occurred.
- Some 350 hikers were rescued and 200 remained stranded on Mount Everest following a weekend of heavy snowfall. Most of those stranded were “tourist” climbers at elevations closer to 16,000 feet than the summit, which is 29,000 feet.
- Four journalists resigned from three newspapers in Alaska after their corporate owner made significant edits to an article about Charlie Kirk’s death, “appearing to yield to pressure from a Republican state lawmaker who had criticized the coverage.”
- University of Colorado had football coach Deion Sanders underwent surgery to address blood clots.
- The U.S. government shutdown is causing flight delays at airports across the country as air traffic controllers who are not getting paid are calling in sick.
- The estate of the late PBS painting instructor Bob Ross will sell 30 of his paintings to help raise funds for PBS stations suffering from federal budget cuts.
- Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, the Loyola basketball superfan, good-luck charm and team chaplain who became an NCAA basketball tournament staple, died. She was 106.

- Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Machado, who has been in hiding since last year’s Venezuelan presidential election, was recognized for her “tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela” and “her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”
- WNBA star Angel Reese will make history as the first athlete to walk in a Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
