• Boulder closed its main library after it found meth residue in its bathrooms. Officials conducted the testing because employees had exhibited “symptoms consistent with a potential exposure to meth residue or fumes.”
• A significant increase in pilot training flights has residents around Centennial Airport up in arms over what they describe as non-stop noise.
• Friends and family of former Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman are grieving his death from liver cancer. Hillman, who helped the Broncos win Super Bowl 50, was just 31.
• Boulder office building owner W.W. Reynolds Cos. says Twitter owes it nearly $200,000 in back rent. Under new owner Elon Musk, Twitter has been in cash-saving mode by not paying rents for some of its offices across the country.
• Speaking of Elon Musk, he announced he plans to step down as CEO of Twitter once a successor is found. While skeptics fear Musk may appoint this guy as his replacement, Snoop Dogg has other ideas.
• COVID and overdose drug deaths caused life expectancy in the U.S. to decline yet again in 2022.
• Stop me if you’ve heard this one before – Wells Fargo has agreed to pay $3.7 billion to settle allegations that it charged illegal fees and interest on auto loans and mortgages, among other illegal actions.
• Speaking of serial offenders, Facebook parent Meta agreed to settle a privacy class action suit for $725 million.
• Severe turbulence on a Phoenix-Honolulu flight sent 20 Hawaiian Airlines passengers to the hospital.
• Does Stanford hate fun? Its tree mascot thinks so.
• Amazon, Macy’s and Groupon have been identified as the worst email marketing spammers of 2022.
• The IOC is threatening to drop boxing from the 2024 Paris Olympics due to allegations of corruption and “an increasingly adversarial relationship” with the organization that runs global boxing.

• The Denver Business Journal has named Keith Dennis as its new publisher.
• Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck Chief Culture & Communications Officer Lara Day has joined the Denver Fire Department Foundation board of directors.
• Denver Public Schools superintendent Alex Marrero was named a “2022 Superintendent to Watch” by the National School Public Relations Association.
• Cherry Creek High School head football coach and KOA NewsRadio Denver Broncos announcer Dave Logan won his fourth straight 5A state championship, giving him his 11th state title. That makes him the most accomplished high school football coach in Colorado history.
• Empower Field is getting a $100 million renovation that includes a jumbo-tron that is 70% larger than the current one. That will allow fans in the stadium to see replays of all the Russell Wilson sacks with far greater clarity.
• Casa Bonita announced it plans to re-open in May 2023.
