This is stupid. Usually “spokespeople” know more about the issue or situation than the others. The Wall Street Journal used to have a policy where they wouldn’t quote “by name” anyone lower than a corporate VP…..
Responding to questions about the policy, an NBC spokesperson said they take journalism very seriously.
