  1. Saw this yesterday. Two things I can only think of for the station to allow this to go on. Car wrecks are great for ratings or …the management is so obtuse they don’t realize it’s going on.

  2. This stuff (within limits) boosts ratings. People tune in to watch with bated breath what snarky characters will say to each other. Hey, it even got exposure here. Generally if it elicits the astonished or even horrified comment “Omigod”, it’s in. At times stuff gets out of hand and people do get fired, but that only boosts the interest, and they show up after choking someone on a new station with a new show called “Full Throttle.”
