    1. Or maybe the L.A. Times has misspelled it so often that IMDB accepts it as an “alternate” spelling. I can’t speak for Elliott/Elliot, but I’d be annoyed if society decided it was easier to give my name an “alternate spelling” than to just spell it right in the first place.

Good point, but here’s another surprising bit, on the video case of the highly regarded indie movie ‘Johns’ of which Elliott Gould appears in, they spell his name with one ‘T’ as well, and you think if they’re going to have a famous veteran actor in their film, with his name over the title, they’d spell it right…I was to say the least a little surprised!
