After 18 months of slashing and burning the Fox31 and KWGN/Channel 2 news departments to the tune of 30-40 layoffs, Fox31 GM/VP Dennis Leonard is “ready to re-evaluate (his) priorities” and will be leaving the station.
It’s hard to pick my favorite Dennis Leonard moment, but here are a few finalists:
- Leonard claims to have discovered music acts Maroon 5, John Mayer and Five for Fighting while working in Birmingham, Ala.
- Leonard lays off dozens of Fox31/KWGN employees, but somehow Tom Martino isn’t one of them.
- Leonard green lights the infamous Fox31 ‘News skankers” cover shot for Denver Magazine.
