Thanks for posting. This is really revealing. I’d say about 25-30% of the jobs posted on AH Jobs List are somehow related to new media skills. PR/Advertising/Marketing – its all a mish-mash of new media these days.
Whoa, that’s a big range for an interactive consultant. I’m guessing that’s because most are self-employed and either treat their job as a business or a piggy bank. The real question is, how many of those people have master’s degrees and where do those salaries fall? Knowing that might give a better idea if they’re worth the money. (Full disclaimer: I have a master’s degree from CSU.)
I was on the team of former DU masters students that conceptualized and developed the program and wrote the classes. As working marketing and PR professionals, we all see the demand for new technologies and skills. One thing not mentioned here is HTML and coding skills, which are more often being required for jobs or are an additional nicety. Andrew, we scoured your listing in the conception process. It’s amazing how fluid practitioners must be these days.
We are really hoping that this program provides benefit to the Denver community and all marketing and PR folks!
